This studio believes that a website showing work made by hand should be open to everyone who wants to look at it. Considerable effort has been put into making this site usable by people with disabilities, and that work is ongoing.
01Commitment
Limor Yosifovich is committed to making this site accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with visual, motor, cognitive and hearing disabilities, in the spirit of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the regulations made under it.
02Standard applied
The site is being built to meet Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA, which is based on the international WCAG 2.0 guidelines of the W3C. Accessibility work on the site is in progress, and this statement will be updated when a full accessibility audit has been completed.
03The accessibility tool
An accessibility widget is available on every page of the site. Its button sits at the middle of the left edge of the screen and can be opened with the mouse or with the keyboard. It allows you to:
- Increase and decrease text size
- Switch to a more readable typeface and increase letter and line spacing
- Adjust contrast, use greyscale or invert colours
- Highlight and enlarge links and headings
- Show a reading mask and a larger cursor
- Stop animations and moving content
- Hide images
- Review the page structure and headings
Your chosen settings are remembered as you move between pages.
04Measures taken on the site itself
- The site can be navigated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- A "skip to content" link is available at the start of each page.
- Headings are structured in a logical hierarchy, and page regions are marked up semantically.
- Images of artworks carry alternative text describing the work.
- Form fields carry associated labels.
- The site is responsive and works on desktop, tablet and mobile.
- Text and background colours were chosen to keep contrast readable.
05Known limitations
Despite the effort made, there may still be pages or components that are not fully accessible:
- Some documents and images uploaded earlier may not yet carry a full text description.
- Content embedded from external services, such as Instagram, is not under the studio's control and its accessibility depends on the provider.
- Newly published works may briefly appear before their alternative text is finalised.
If you come across any of these, or anything else, please tell us. Every report is acted on.
06Accessibility of the physical studio
Studio visits are by appointment. The studio is a private working space and has not been surveyed for physical accessibility. If you are planning a visit and have an accessibility requirement, please say so when you make the appointment so arrangements can be discussed in advance.
07Reporting a problem and accessibility contact
If you encountered a barrier on the site, or if something did not work as it should, please get in touch. Describing the page, what you were trying to do and the browser or assistive technology you were using will help a great deal.
